Orchard Hill Rabbitry obtained its first
breeding/foundation stock in 2006. It started as a joint project
between the girls and me. They still help out in the rabbitry and
occasionally attend a show, but are not really as committed as I'd
hoped they would be.

I have been breeding/showing Miniature Dachshunds
under the Laurjosh
prefix since 1992. I hope to use this breeding experience and eye
for breed type in developing a line of rabbits that are pleasing to
the eye, with great personalities and top contenders on the show
table. With a fairly aggressive breeding program, we have now
entered our second generation of Orchard Hill rabbits. Most of our
young does are being bred back to their sires to stamp the type and
qualities we brought them in for; and to refine the gene pool so
that there is more predictability with each breeding.

Our Rabbitry is
located in Northeast Pennsylvania and is climate controlled which we
hope will make for the best breeding conditions. (...okay, so a lot
of the climate control has to do with the comfort of the animal
keepers....) We moved into our newly constructed home in Winter
2007. Our first home was located on Orchard Hill road, and our new
home was built in the middle of an old family orchard with some
apple, pear and peach trees still standing. Hence, the name of our
rabbitry.
My son Josh developed the logo that appears
below.
